It’s a repeat for Madison Langdon as Wyomissing Physical Therapy Player of the Week

Madison Langdon couldn’t find the range from the field early in Berks Catholic’s BCIAA quarterfinal against Exeter Saturday.

She missed her first three shots but has been around basketball enough to know that shooters shoot and eventually the shots will drop – if you take the right ones.

“There’s 32 minutes in the game, and every time you’re on the court you have an opportunity to get better and keep going,” the junior said after scoring 16 second-half points in the Saints’ 54-35 win over Exeter.

Langdon finished with a game-high 22 points and has been named Wyomissing Physical Therapy Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. She scored a career-high 30 points earlier in the week in the Saints’ regular season finale against Conrad Weiser.

“We know we are going to get the points from her,” Berks Catholic head coach Bob Birmingham said. “She’s just very difficult to guard because she can score at every level.”

Once Langdon found the range Saturday she almost couldn’t miss. She made six straight shots during one stretch and 8-of-9 as the Saints rallied from an early nine-point deficit to advance to the league semifinals Wednesday at Santander Arena against top-seeded Wilson.

“She wasn’t playing with confidence in the first half,” Birmingham said of Langdon. “She wasn’t sure (of herself). She knows what to do (to get turned around); she’s played enough basketball. You could see her first couple baskets of the second half she was going to the basket, and then she buried the 3’s after that.”

Langdon made each of her final four attempts from 3-point range. She also had four 3’s in the win over Weiser.

She is fourth in the league with 42 3-pointers, third in scoring at 16.8 per game, and fifth (among qualifiers) in three throw shooting percentage at 77.5. Her 825 career points are sixth among active players.

She was second on the team in scoring as a sophomore at 11.3 per game.

This is the third time Langdon has been selected Player of the Week; she was selected last season during the playoffs.

She’s just the second player picked in consecutive weeks in the three years of the award. Wyomissing’s Amaya Stewart was selected in back-to-back weeks last year during the postseason.
