Defending champ Norchester is the top seed as the Berks County Senior Legion tournament opens Wednesday with four games.
The double-elimination tournament will extend over five days, with the champ being crowned Sunday at Owl’s Field.
Games are at the home of the higher-seeded teams Wednesday and Thursday; all games Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be played at Owl’s Field.
Norchester went 13-1 in regular season play, its lone loss coming to Reading 11-1 on June 23 following a 9-0 start. Norchester opens against No. 8 Topton Post 217 (2-12) Wednesday at 7.
Other first-round games: No. 7 Daniel Boone (3-11) at No. 2 Boyertown (10-4); No. 6 Shillington (4-10) at No. 3 West Lawn (10-4); No. 5 Twin Valley (7-7) at No. 4 Reading (7-7).
Norchester won the Region 2 and Pennsylvania championships last year; West Lawn was the state runner-up.
The Berks champion advances to the eight-team Region 2 Tournament, which starts July 15, at Quakertown. The Berks champ will open against the Bux-Mont champ at 4.
Hamburg has clinched a spot in the tournament as the Schuylkill-Berks representative; the Reds open against Norco No. 1 at 1.
