Series: Wyomissing leads 3-2.
Last meeting: Justice Hardy scored a pair of touchdowns and was one of three Wyomissing backs to top 100 rushing yards as the Spartans crushed the Pioneers 46-7 in a Week 10 game at Lampeter. Wyomissing rushed for 489 yards and outgained Lampeter 526-204. Hardy and Danny Fleischood each rushed for 119 yards and Dom Arguelles went for 107. Chase Eisenhower ran for a pair of scores for Wyomissing.

District playoff history: Wyomissing has 12 championships and won five straight from 2019-2023. Overall, the Spartans are 44-19, with an 11-2 record in quarterfinals. . . Lampeter-Strasburg won its fourth championship last year, beating Wyomissing 30-27 in OT. Overall, the Pioneers are 26-15, with championships in 2007, 2019, and 2020. Overall, they are 10-2 in quarterfinals.

Spartans update: Saw bid for Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 4 title ended with 28-6 loss to Twin Valley at home in Week 8. . . Closed out regular season with overpowering win at Lampeter-Strasburg, the only game in the series against the Pioneers that wasn’t closely contest. . . Ranked No. 4 in the league in rushing, No. 4 in total offense, and No. 3 in scoring (40.1). . . Junior HB Justice Hardy is averaging 11.7 yards per carry and leads team with 793 rushing yards and 16 TDs. . . Also tops team with 10 receptions. . . Senior FB Chase Eisenhower is averaging 8.2 yards per carry and has rushed for 622 yards. He needs 116 yards to become the third back in program history to top 3,000, following Gregory Lord (3,116) and Kevin Neff (3,109). . . Soph QB Brady Eisenhower has seen 11 of his 29 completions go for TDs. He’s completing nearly 66 percent of his passes. . . Pioneers update: Coming off back-to-back losses for the first time since 2019. . . Lost at Twin Valley 42-7 in Week 9 and to Wyomissing 46-7 in Week 10. . . Were idle last week. . . Have not lost three straight since 2019. . . Ranked No. 22 in the league in total offense and No. 11 in scoring (29.2). . . QB Asher Jones has passed for 949 yards and 11 TDs and run for 434 yards and 6 TDs. . . Colby DeJessa leads team in rushing with 535 yards and 7 TDs. . . Fast fact: Wyomissing’s record 36-game home winning streak was snapped last year by Lampeter-Strasburg, which won 20-7 in Week 10.

Series flashback: Four weeks after a loss to Lampeter-Strasburg in the regular season finale, Wyomissing nearly knocked off the unbeaten Pioneers in last year’s District 3 Class 4A championship game before falling 30-27 in overtime at Lititz. The Spartans took the lead in OT on Keegan Maher’s 28-yard field goal but opted to retain the ball after a roughing the kicker penalty set them up at the 5. After three straight runs left them at the 2 the Spartans again tried a field goal but saw it blocked by All-State LB Dominic Brown. Peter Fiorello ended the game shortly thereafter with a 22-yard field goal, his third of the game. Lampeter’s All-State quarterback Caileb Howse brought his team back in regulation, converting a fourth-and-13 after a wild scramble before throwing a 5-yard TD with 28 seconds left.

Fast fact: Wyomissing won 13 consecutive district playoff games before losing in the championship game last year to Lampeter-Strasburg.
