Wyomissing Physical Therapy Player of the Week
Myles Grey has quickly gone from supporting role to leading man.
With his Reading High team playing short-handed in recent weeks the 5-11 junior guard has stepped up his game, recording career-high scoring totals in back-to-back games last week.
He had 19 points in a 67-51 win over Berks Catholic and topped that with a game-high 24 points against Gov. Mifflin. He was good on 10-of-16 shots from 3-point range in the two games, including a personal-best seven against the Mustangs.
That was more than enough to earn Wyomissing Physical Therapy boys basketball Player of the Week.

“He wants to see the ball in his hands now,” said Reading coach Rick Perez. “That’s been the major difference in him.”
The Red Knights have been without two starters and three players in their rotation in recent weeks and Grey has more than helped fill the void.
He moved into the starting lineup at midseason last year and played a valuable role as a lock-down defender during the Red Knights’ run to a PIAA Class 6A championship.
He continued that role in the early weeks this season, defending, passing, hitting the occasional 3-pointer.
With leading scorer Daniel Alcantara out of the lineup due to disciplinary issues Grey has shown off his all-around game.
“He has confidence to command the ball now,” Perez said. “His confidence is through the roof, and his teammates are really feeding that.”
Grey’s seven 3-pointers against Mifflin tied for second-most in a game in program history.
Grey was one of the key components on the KTB Select team that won the AAU 16U/10th grade Division II World Championship in Orlando, Fla. in July. He shared team MVP honors with Reading teammate Aris Rodriguez and Josiah Jordan of Berks Catholic.
The nine-player KTB squad, which was composed mostly of players from Reading High, won its seven games by an average of more than 26 points per game.
Two years ago Grey and his KTB teammates became the first team from the program to win a world championship when they captured the AAU eighth-grade title.
Grey is the fourth Wyomissing Physical Therapy Player of the Week this season. Berks Conference coaches nominate their top player each week. At the end of the season a Player of the Year will be selected from the weekly award-winners and nominees.
