Ummarino, Glover, Brownback unanimous picks on All-Berks Big School squad

Joel Ummarino of Exeter and Michael Glover and EJ Brownback of Wilson are unanimous picks on the BCFCA Big School All-Berks team.

Ummarino, a senior, was a unanimous pick at center and as Offensive Lineman of the Year; Glover, a junior, was a unanimous selection at tight end; Brownback, a junior, received all first-place votes at inside linebacker.

Exeter’s record-setting Leo Brown is both Player of the Year and Offensive Back of the Year.

Ummarino was also named Defensive Lineman of the Year. Brownback is Linebacker of the Year; teammate Jaiden Carpenter is Defensive Back of the Year. Muhlenberg’s Michael Miller Jr. is Receiver of the Year.

Rob Flowers, who saw his team double its win total in his second season at Muhlenberg, is Coach of the Year.

The team was selected in voting by coaches of Berks County’s eight largest schools: Conrad Weiser, Daniel Boone, Exeter, Fleetwood, Gov. Mifflin, Muhlenberg, Reading High and Wilson.

A Small School squad has also been selected.

Six players are two-way picks: Ummarino, Glover, Carpenter, Governor Mifflin’s Patrick Steuer, Exeter’s Andre Osborne and Exeter’s Jake Franek.

There are four repeat picks: Glover, at tight end; Conrad Weiser’s Eugene Booth III, at interior line; Muhlenberg’s Cameron Small, at running back; and Muhlenberg’s Zavier Otero, at guard.

There are five juniors: Brownback, Glover, Oswalt, Steuer and Wilson’s Cole Peterson.
