Players to watch in Division IV of the Berks Baseball League in 2022:

Jesse Breuning, Brandywine Heights: Will lead off for the Bullets after batting .323 with 15 runs scored and 12 RBIs in 21 games as a junior. All-Division pick had .797 OPS. Will see time in the outfield and behind the plate.
Grant Fitzgerald, Kutztown: Batted .310 and led team in innings pitched as a junior to earn all-division honors. Struck out 24 over 33 1/3 innings. Will be No. 1 pitcher this season and play first base.
Nick Hugo, Kutztown: Took over behind the plate as a sophomore and showed promise, earning all-division honors. Batted .288 with 15 hits, 10 RBIs and nine runs scored. Handles pitching staff well.
Chad Maggs, Brandywine Heights: Will move into No. 2 spot in rotation after pitching 13 1/3 scoreless innings with 14 strikeouts as a junior. Batted .346 with .868 OPS in 32 plate appearances. Earned honorable mention selection last season.

Jacob Rabert, Kutztown: Earned all-division honors after leading team with .357 batting average as a junior. Had eight RBIs, eight runs scored, five doubles and a homer. Lines up as Cougars’ No. 2 pitcher. Earned honorable mention selection last season.
Matt Remick, Kutztown: Batted .292 with 19 runs scored and 14 hits out of the No. 2 hole to earn all-division honors as a sophomore. Solid defensive shortstop with good instincts and desire to excel.
Carson Renner, Brandywine Heights: Earned spot on Pennsylvania Big 26 team after sophomore season that saw him bat .311 and lead the team with 21 runs scored in 21 games. Had three homers, eight doubles and 12 extra-base hits. All-Division pick had a .622 slugging percentage and 1.057 OPS. He’ll be the No. 1 starter after striking out 37 over 41 1/3 innings last season.
Jaegar Smeltz, Brandywine Heights: Had a big sophomore season, earning all-division honors after leading the team with 21 runs scored in 21 games, batting .317 and driving in 11 runs. Had a .427 on-base average and stole six bases. Will play the outfield and see time on the mound.
Dan Woodford, Antietam: Struck out an average of one batter per inning in earning all-division honors as a junior. Batted .240 with three doubles.
Hunter Zohn, Tulpehocken: Earned all-division honors as a pitcher and outfielder for the Trojans as a junior.
