A two-time All-State and three-time All-Berks selection . . . All-Berks selections from each of the county finalists . . . and a talented sophomore class return to highlight Berks girls basketball for the 2022-23 season, which tips Friday.
Exeter and Muhlenberg have swapped divisions, with the Muhls moving to Berks I and the Eagles going to Berks II — a division that’s up for grabs.
Twin Valley All-Berks selection Natali Foster and all-division selections Anna Kaplan and Rachel Knight have graduated. Conrad Weiser all-division selections Ellie Miller, Kailee Richmond and Natalia Moll were also seniors a season ago.
Here are the Players to Watch in Berks II (listed in alphabetical order):
Julianna Hall, sophomore, Daniel Boone: One of two returning starters for Blazers. Played in 19 games last season and another key piece in changing Blazers’ program under new head coach.
Rosie Laverty, senior, Exeter: Eagles return talented backcourt with Laverty and Grace Reedy. The all-division honorable mention pick averaged 4.9 points per game last season.

Colette Lennon, junior, Twin Valley: Lone returning starter for Berks II champs. Will take on larger role after heavy graduation hit. Made 11 3’s as sophomore.
Keira Monaghan, senior, Twin Valley: Valuable part of Twin Valley’s success last season, playing in all 27 games for the Berks II champs. Her value skyrockets with returning starter and Temple lacrosse commit Sarah Gowman out for the season with an injury.
Erin Okuniewski, sophomore, Daniel Boone: One of two returning starters for Blazers. Appeared in all 20 games as a freshman and will be key in getting the Blazers back in the win column.
Grace Reedy, junior, Exeter: All-Division pick in Berks I. Was third-highest scorer in Berks at 15.1 points per game as a sophomore. Made 18 3’s and shot 66.7 percent from foul line. Aiming to help Eagles turn things around after 2-19 finish.
Sydney Spang, sophomore, Conrad Weiser: Returning backcourt starter alongside Trevena, described as “old-school gym rat” by head coach and has sole focus on basketball.
Alex Trevena, sophomore, Conrad Weiser: Returning starter and three-sport athlete was Scouts’ second-leading scorer last season, averaging 6.3 points. Hit team-leading 37 3’s, sixth-most in the league and most of any player in Berks II.
