All-Berks pick Paul Petersen struck out six over six innings as fourth-seeded Oley Valley beat fifth-seeded Brandywine Heights 5-4 in a District 3 Class 3A quarterfinal Monday at Oley.
The win was the sixth in seven games for the Lynx.
Tyler Drobek went 3-for-4 and all-division Chase Reifsnyder had two hits and two RBIs to lead Oley’s 12-hit attack.
The Lynx (14-7) advance to play a semifinal at top-seeded Camp Hill (16-3-1) Thursday at 4:30. The Lions had an opening-round bye. The Bullets (11-7) were eliminated.
Oley Valley went up 2-1 in the first and led 5-1 after a three-run third. It put the game away with a three-run sixth.
Petersen allowed seven hits and two walks. Freshman Chase Kegerise pitched the final inning.
Nate Firek had two hits and scored two runs for Oley; Brad Auge had a single, double, an RBI and scored a run.
All-Berks pick Joe Crist had a pair of doubles and scored twice for the Bullets. Nate Fronheiser went 2-for-3.
Carson Renner started and went 4 1/3 innings for Brandywine, allowing five hits and five runs, one earned. The Bullets committed four errors.
The Berks III champion Lynx defeated the Berks IV runner-up Lynx 3-2 in a league crossover game May 5.
