Keba Mitchell has joined up with his former high school coach at Berks Catholic, Snip Esterly, and the Reading Rebels.
The 6-4 Mitchell was the top rebounder and shot blocker as a senior in 2017-18 when the Saints went 28-3 and won the Berks Conference and District 3 Class 4A championships. He averaged 9.5 points and was named to the All-Berks team.

He went on to play at DeSales University, where he was named MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year and a second-team all-league pick as a junior in 2021.
As a senior Mitchell led DeSales in blocked shots and was second in rebounding as the Bulldogs went 22-6 overall and posted a league-best 14-2 conference record.
Mitchell joins a Rebels roster that includes former Berks Catholic players Donovon Jack, Marcus Dawkins and Marquis Marshall.
The Rebels roster also includes former Reading High players Trenity Burdine and Gil Benz.
The Rebels are 5-5 overall and 4-1 at home as they approach the midway point of their inaugural season in The Basketball League.
Reading’s next game is Friday against Albany at Geigle Complex at 8. On Saturday, the Rebels play at Tri-State.
On Sunday, the Rebels will host a Daddy-Daughter clinic at Berks Catholic from 6-7:30.
In addition to Mitchell, the Rebels signed former Maryland high school sensation Aquille Carr. Carr was was drafted to the NBA D-League by the Delaware 87ers in 2013.
Burdine leads the team in scoring at 20.8 points per game. Rich McCalop is second at 19.0 and Julian Debose third at 18.7.
Jack is averaging 14.8 points and a team-best 11.0 rebounds; he’s also shooting a team-best 52.2 percent.
