Antietam beats Pottstown, earns first baseball win since 2019

Mikey Fidler struck out 11 over six innings as Antietam beat visiting Pottstown 10-8 Friday in a non-league baseball game, snapping the Mounts’ 23-game losing streak.

Antietam, which started this season 0-3, had not won a game since 2019, when it beat Steel-High 11-1.

The Mounts didn’t play in 2020 due to the pandemic and went 0-17 last season.

Dan Woodford went 2-for-2 and walked once to lead the Mounts’ attack.

Fidler allowed two earned runs over six innings. Jordan Unger pitched the seventh to pick up the save.

The Trojans slipped to 0-3; they were outscored 34-4 in their first two losses, to Daniel Boone and Upper Merion. The loss was the 20th straight for Pottstown, which finished 0-16 last season.

Antietam had been outscored 40-11 in its first three games.
