Manheim Township’s record-setting pass-catch duo of Hayden Johnson and Landon Kennel are among four Lancaster-Lebanon League players selected for Pennsylvania’s Big 33 team.
They are joined by teammate Eli Rodriguez and Aaron Enterline of Manheim Central.
There are no Berks County players on the team despite the fact that seven have committed to play at Division I college programs next season. Wyomissing’s Caleb Brewer, a Penn State commit, was invited but declined.
Unless the roster is updated this will be the first time since 2017 that no Berks player takes part in the game. Last year Cam Jones of Wilson and Anthony Caccese of Exeter played for the Keystoners in their win over Maryland. Players may still be added to the roster should others withdraw.
The 67th annual Big 33 Classic will be played Sunday, May 26 at Cumberland Valley’s Chapman Field. Maryland will again be the opponent. Kickoff is at 7.
The East-West All-Star games will be played May 19 at Chapman Field; the Small School game will be at noon, the Big School game at 5. Rosters for those teams will be announced later this month or in early March.
Tom Gravish of Jersey Shore will be head coach for Pennsylvania. His staff includes Steel-High head coach Andrew Erby. Gravish has coached for 34 seasons and won 173 game.
