Drew Engle set Twin Valley’s single-season rushing record and the Raiders completed the most successful regular season in program history Friday with a 48-7 non-league win over visiting Hatboro-Horsham.
The Raiders (9-1) clinched at least a share of the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 3 title last week, wrapping up league play at 5-1 with a win over rival Daniel Boone.
Engle rushed for 120 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns, on runs of 2 and 35 yards, both in the second quarter. He heads into the postseason with 1,240 yards. He topped the record of 1,224, set by David Sabulsky in 2016.
The Raiders will share the section title with Ephrata (5-1, 9-1) and Garden Spot (5-1, 9-1), each of which wrapped up its regular season with league victories Friday. Twin Valley beat Garden Spot 35-34 in Week 7 before falling to Ephrata 52-33 one week later.
The loss snapped a 7-0 start, the best in program history.
Evan Myers passed for 181 yards and two TDs and gave the Raiders the lead with a 5-yard run in the first quarter. He completed 14-of-20 passes to eight different receivers.
The Hatters (5-5) tied it 7-7 late in the first quarter on Mason Bynum’s 25-yard scoring reception.
The Raiders answered with three second-quarter TDs and led 28-7 at the half.
Engle scored on runs of 2 and 35 yards and freshman Lucas Myers on a 31-yard reception from his brother, Evan, in the second quarter.
Evan Johnson, who entered the game with 1,010 yards, carried just five times for 32 yards, one of those carries resulting in a 2-yard, third-quarter TD. His carries have been limited in recent weeks due to an undisclosed injury.
Twin Valley has qualified for the District 3 Class 5A Tournament and is expected to have a first-round bye next week. It will host a quarterfinal round game Nov. 10. Unofficially, Twin Valley edged Manheim Central for the No. 2 seed. Bishop McDevitt will be No. 1.
The Raiders earned their first district home game last season and also won a district game for the first time.
Twin Valley is 16-6 in its first two seasons under head coach Brett Myers.
