PIAA announces site, time for Exeter state quarterfinal vs. Peters Township

District 3 champ Exeter will head to Bellefonte Friday to play Peters Township in a PIAA Class 5A quarterfinal at 6 at Bald Eagle High School.

The Eagles (25-6) advanced with a 66-49 victory Tuesday at Manheim Township.

Peters Township, the District 7 runner-up, advanced with a 58-56 winner over Lampeter-Strasburg.

The Eagles have reached the state quarterfinals just once before, in 1973-74 when they made it all the way to the PIAA title game.

Exeter has won six straight, 15 of its last 16, and 19 of its last 21.

The trip to Bellefonte is approximately 149 miles for Exeter and 166 miles for Peters Township, which is located in McMurray, south of Pittsburgh.
