10 Questions with Gov. Mifflin’s Gerrell McNeil, presented by the Weeber/Langdon Team of Merrill Lynch
MikeDragoSports.com goes one-on-one with a Berks basketball player to find out what’s on his or her mind — on the court and off.
Gerrell McNeil, Gov. Mifflin
Senior guard
Q: Who has been most influential in helping you developing your game?
My dad (Everett), for sure. He’s been teaching me the game since I was little. Also, Coach (Kyle) Conrad and Coach (Brian) Wrobel. They’ve taught me so many little details within the game.
Q: What’s your go-to burger or pizza place?
Biased, because I work at a Pizza Place, but I do like the pizza and wings combo.
Q: Who’s the Gov. Mifflin basketball player you looked up to most as a kid?
Probably Bryce Harman (a Mifflin senior in 2020); I like they way he played.
Q: What’s the best thing about having a twin brother (Delsin) who excels at the same sports as you, football and basketball?
When I’m off he can pick up my slack; unfortunately if we are both off we can’t help each other out.

Q: When are you more nervous: At the foul line in the final seconds of a close game or trying to finish a math exam with time running out?
Definitely finishing a math exam; there’s nothing like having a test with a short time limit.
Q: Who’s the hardest-working player on your team?
It’s got to be Tyler Minick; that guy does it all.
Q: If you could go one-on-one against any NBA player, past or present, who would it be?
Devin Booker; I love his game.
Q: For someone who’s never been to one of the games, how would you describe the Mifflin/Wilson rivalry?
We’ve been rivals since forever. It’s always a battle going against Wilson; there’s a lot of pride held on both sides.
Q: Who’s the toughest player you’ve ever had to guard in a game?
Myles (Grey of Reading High); he’s so quick it’s hard to stay in front of him for a long time.
Q: You’ve played football and basketball at Gov. Mifflin. What’s the one sport you wish you had given a try?
Baseball. I used to play when I was younger. I can sit and watch a baseball game any day.
