Wyomissing’s girls basketball team is showing no signs of slowing down.
The undefeated Spartans defeated Fleetwood 55-22 Monday night in a Berks League Division III matchup at Wyomissing.
The Tigers (1-3, 5-6), led by Kansas State commit Alexis Hess, appeared to be Wyomissing’s biggest challenge in the division at the beginning of the season.
The Spartans (4-0, 12-0) have deployed a balanced offensive attack all season with five players averaging over five points. They led the league in scoring at 54.1 points per game coming into Monday.
Defensively, they’ve been just as good, allowing a Berks low 27.6 points per game.
Fleetwood ended the first quarter with a 9-6 lead before a 12-5 spurt in the second quarter had Wyomissing up by four at halftime.
Morgan Koehler had five points and Hess four to pace the Tigers; Alexis Hardy had nine in the first half for the Spartans.
The Spartans started firing on all cylinders in the second half.
Amaya Stewart and Audrey Hurleman each had six points in the third and the Spartans outscored the Tigers 20-5. Annie McCaffrey scored eight and Stewart seven more in the fourth to lead the Spartans to a 17-3 advantage.

Stewart led all scorers with 17, Hardy finished with 12, and McCaffrey 11 for Wyomissing.
Koehler finished with eight. Hess, who came in averaging 21.1 points, finished with six, just the second time this season she’s been held to single digits.
The Spartans face West York Wednesday and the Tigers face Kutztown Thursday.
Wyomissing is the lone undefeated team in Berks and District 3 Class 4A. The Spartans were one of the last undefeated teams in all of District 3 coming into Monday, along with Central York, Cedar Cliff and Lebanon in 6A; Greencastle-Antrim in 5A; Lancaster Catholic in 3A; and Christian School of York and High Point Baptist Academy in 1A.
The Spartans have matchups looming against two Harrisburg District 3 Class 4A opponents that could paint a clearer picture of the field. They’ll face Middletown (currently No. 8 in the district power rankings) Saturday and Bishop McDevitt (currently No. 3) on Jan. 21.
