Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week
Ryan Koch got off to a slow start this season, scoring just 11 points in Berks Catholic’s first two games. The all-division pick turned it around quickly, his big week helping the undefeated Saints win three times and take early control in Division II of the Berks Conference.
Koch, a senior forward, scored 62 points over three games and has been named Wyomissing Physical Therapy Player of the Week for the first time.
The 6-3 Koch broke out with a career-high 31 points in a 71-59 win over Octorara, including five 3-pointers. That topped his season-high last season, when he scored 27 points against Wilson, hitting a career-high six 3-pointers.
He had 21 points in a 63-57 comeback victory at Conrad Weiser. He scored 13 fourth-quarter points as the Saints rallied from a nine-point deficit.
Koch had 10 points in a 73-63 win against top division rival Exeter, giving the Saints their 60th straight win in Berks II play.
Koch is averaging 14.3 points per game, with a team-leading 12 3-pointers in six games. He’s been good on 14-of-16 free throws (87.5 percent).
Koch averaged 14.3 points per game as a junior, with a league-leading 63 3-pointers. He was named to the Berks I all-division team.
His 31 points were two points short of the program record of 33, produced by Nana Foulland in 2014.
Shortly before this season Koch committed to play at Pitt-Johnstown, which plays in the Pennsylvania Conference’s Western Division.
Koch is the first Berks Catholic player to earn Wyomissing Physical Therapy Player of the Week honors.
