Kutztown senior and scoring maestro Ky Brantley will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus.
Brantley led Berks in scoring last season for the Cougars at 19.4 points per game; she was leading the league again to begin this year with a 27.7 average through three games.
Brantley went down with the injury in a 54-34 victory over Upper Perkiomen on December 10.
The Cougars are 3-2 overall, 1-1 without Brantley, including a league-opening win Friday over Antietam.
The 5-5 guard was the third-leading scorer on Berks Catholic’s county championship team as a sophomore. Brantley averaged 10.2 points per game on that team and scored 14 in the Saints’ 55-44 victory over Wyomissing in the championship.
Brantley originally transferred to Berks Catholic from Emmaus.
She finishes her career with 706 points in Berks play.
