Top Players to Watch in Berks IV girls basketball for 2022-23 season

Addison Benner, sophomore, Brandywine Heights: The 5-11 guard averaged 14.1 points per game as freshman, the fourth-highest in the league. Hit 39 3’s in leading Bullets to Berks IV title and 18-win season.

Ky Brantley, senior, Kutztown: League’s top scorer at 19.4 points per game as a junior. All-Division selection had two 30-point outings last season, against Berks III champ Schuylkill Valley and Upper Perkiomen. Hit team-leading 28 33-pointers and shot 69 percent from the foul line.

Breanna Claman, senior, Tulpehocken: Second-leading scorer on Trojans returns after averaging 6.4 points.

Meaghan Dietrich, senior, Kutztown: Cougars’ second-leading scorer at 4.9 points per game provides experience in the backcourt alongside Ky Brantley. Played in all 22 games as a junior.

Olivia Moyer, junior, Brandywine Heights: All-Division honorable mention pick provides a steady presence at point guard for the defending division champs.

Avery Potteiger, junior, Brandywine Heights: The 6-foot center heads into her third season as starter with hopes of helping Bullets win a third straight division title. Averaged 5.6 points per game last season.

Alyzah Reyes, sophomore, Antietam: The Mounts’ only returning will see uptick in responsibility after top two scorers transferred to Reading High.

Mahala Ruffner, senior, Tulpehocken: Averaged 6.3 points as a junior, third on the team. An all-division honorable mention pick.

Morgan Snyder, junior, Oley Valley: Penn State field hockey commit runs the point and helps form one of the most lethal backcourts in the county, along with Ryanne Wheeler. Averaged team-leading 13.2 points per game as a sophomore. Was an All-Berks pick in field hockey.

Ryanne Wheeler, junior, Oley Valley: All-Division shooting guard averaged 12.6 points per game last year. Led team in 3-pointers with 16. Getting Division III looks.
