Top-seeded Berks Packing set to defend West Reading Summer League title
Berks Packing and Naso Realty are the top seeds for West Reading’s Ron Krick Memorial League playoffs, which begin Monday at the West Reading courts.
Berks Packing, composed of players from Berks Catholic, earned a first-round bye as the Division 1 champ. Berks finished the regular season 9-1.
Naso Realty, composed of players from Oley Valley, won the Division 2 title, going 9-1.
Each of the 15 teams will compete in the four-round, single-elimination tournament. The quarterfinals are Tuesday, the semifinals Wednesday and the championship game Thursday at 5:25.
Monday’s games begin at 5:25, with games going on simultaneously on each of the two courts.
In case of inclement weather games will be played indoors at either West Reading Elementary or Wyomissing High School.
Marrella Financial (Wilson) finished second in Division I and opens against Division II eighth seed Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips (Tulpehocken) at 5:25.
Naso Realty opens against seventh-place Lamm & Witman Funeral Home (Conrad Weiser) at 6:20.

- No. 1-4 Gin Mill Restaurant (Cedar Crest) vs. No. 2-6 Daniel Boone, 7:15.
- No. 1-5 Tom Masano, Inc. (Gov. Mifflin) vs. No. 2-3 Ephrata A.A, 8:10.
- No. 1-6 Apex Advertising (Warwick) vs. No. 2-2 Leibensperger Funeral Home (Schuylkill Valley), 5:25.
- No. 2-4 Bertolet Volkswagen (Antietam) vs. No. 2-5 King’s Auto Repair (Wyomissing), 7:15.
Berks Packing will play the winner of the Antietam/Wyomissing game in the first of four games Tuesday, starting at 5:25.
Wednesday’s semifinals will be played at 5:25 and 6:20.
Berks Packing defeated Marrella Financial in last year’s championship game.
The All-Star game will be played Thursday, following the championship game.
