Q: If you could go one-on-one against any NBA player, past or present, who would it be?
Kyrie Irving. He’s my favorite point guard and the greatest ball handler to ever play in the NBA.
Q: What’s the funniest thing a ref ever said to you during a game?
“You’re the best player on this court. Why don’t you act like it?”
Q: Most of your teammates were still playing football when basketball practice began. What was it like waiting for them to return?

It was a little weird and difficult at first practicing with just a handful of freshmen and a sophomore. I really just took it as an opportunity to get better and to be more prepared for the season.
Q: I’m looking for something to watch on Netflix. What’s your best suggestion?
“The 100.” One of the best shows I’ve watched on Netflix.
Q: Who’s the hardest-working player on your team?
Drew Eisenhower. He’s always going hard and giving 100%.
Q: You’re scoring a lot more than you did last year and taking over games at crunch time. What did you do in the offseason to improve your game?
I trained with my guy Alex Bernhard at New Age Hoops. I was in the gym working on my game and trying to get better every single day.
Q: And how about for the mental side of your game? How has that changed?
It’s still something I struggle with and am trying to get better at every day/game. This year I’m just trying to be more positive and only focus on things I can control.
Q: Who on your team would win an NBA All-Star style 3-point shooting contest?
I would have to go with myself, but it would be close with Aiden Schippers or Alex Campbell.
Q: What’s your Super Bowl pick?
I’m going with the Rams. I feel like they’re just too good of a team compared to the Bengals, especially on the defensive side.
Q: Who’s been the most important person in helping you develop your game?
My mom (Destiny O’Brien); she’s been supporting me and pushing me to be the best person/player I can possibly be.
