Turchi, McFarland, Price highlight Berks boys basketball honor roll

MikeDragoSports.com presents an honor roll of the top Berks boys basketball players each week. Coaches are encouraged to nominate their top player for consideration. One player will be selected Player of the Week.

Josiah Jordan, Berks Catholic: The junior guard scored a career-high 30 points in a 69-52 win at York Catholic and 10 second-half points in a win 53-43 at Gov. Mifflin.

Joey Schlaffer, Exeter: The junior forward had 10 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to Reading High and 22 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Conrad Weiser.

Xavier Price, Gov. Mifflin: The senior center had 16 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Berks Catholic and 13 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Dallastown.

Kevin McFarland, Hamburg: The 6-3 junior scored 15 points in a win over Schuylkill Haven and 13 in a win over Schuylkill Valley.

Xavier Goodman, Kutztown: The 6-foot senior guard scored 24 points in a win over Northwestern Lehigh, 27 in a loss to Antietam and 20 in a win over Brandywine Heights.

Danny Turchi, Oley Valley: The senior forward scored 23 points in a win over Schuylkill Valley, 23 in a win over Brandywine Heights and 22 in a loss at Wyomissing.

Bryce Mellen, Tulpehocken: The senior forward scored 57 points over three wins, including 19 in a 59-51 victory over Fleetwood. He scored 10 points in the final quarter against the Tigers. He had 21 points in a 60-59 win at Brandywine Heights and 17 in a 64-39 win at Pequea Valley.
