Q: If you could go one-on-one against any NBA player, past or present, who would it be?
It would definitely be Yao Ming. He is one of my favorite players of all time. It would be pretty funny to go against a 7-6 giant.
Q: Who’s the hardest-working player on your team?
Zyion (Paschall) is our hardest worker. He is always guarding the opponent’s point guard and never makes it easy. He is always the first one in the gym and the last one out.
Q: Be honest: How many text messages do you send per day?
Texts, probably 50; Snapchats: 200.
Q: Which class in school is more interesting than Coach Ashcroft’s practices?
Sports Nutrition. We do a lot of cooking, and when we cook we never know how the food is going to turn out.
Q: Which of your teammates would win an NBA All-Star style 3-point shooting contest?
Colin Payne. I believe that Colin could beat everyone in the district in a shooting competition.
Q: What’s the one thing Coach Ashcroft has said to you that you think will stick with you for the rest of your life?
“The ball is sticking.” He always says this, which means that our offense is being stagnant and we aren’t moving and swinging the ball.
Q: Other than your home court where’s your favorite place to play?
Wilson, because it is always a hard-fought game and there are always lots of fans from both schools.
Q: What’s the one basketball skill you’d like to add to your game?
I would like to get my jump shot off a little quicker.
Q: What will a successful basketball season look like for Exeter?
A successful season for us would would be competing for a county championship and winning a district championship.
Q: Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to freshman at Exeter?
Play every game like it’s your last because you never know what the future holds.
