Wyomissing postpones key boys basketball match-up vs. Fleetwood, two others

Wyomissing’s boys basketball program has been shut down, due to a COVID situation within the team.

The Spartans were scheduled to play three games this week: Tuesday at home against Fleetwood, Thursday at Schuylkill Valley and Friday at West York. Each game has been postponed.

The Spartans are next scheduled to play Saturday afternoon at West York.

The Fleetwood game was an early battle for first place in Division III of the Berks Conference. The Tigers and Spartans were preseason co-favorites and each opened with a league win. They will now play Jan. 22. The Tigers are 6-0, the Spartans 3-2.

The game at Schuylkill Valley has been moved to Jan. 21.
