Reedy, Hess, Kaplan highlight Berks girls basketball honor roll

MikeDragoSports.com presents a weekly honor roll of the top Berks girls basketball players each week. Coaches are encouraged to nominate their top player for consideration. One player will be selected Player of the Week.

Fleetwood’s Alexis Hess

Caroline Reedy, Berks Catholic: The 5-9 senior guard/forward scored 55 points over four games, including three wins. She scored 23 points in a 44-30 win over Oley Valley and 12 over Roosevelt (Ore.) in the KSA Tournament in Olando, Fla.

Avery Pottieger, Brandywine Heights: The 5-11 sophomore had 13 points, 11 rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals in a 54-23 win over Kutztown.

Grace Reedy, Exeter: The sophomore forward scored a team- and career-high 22 points in a loss to Reading High.

Alex Hess, Fleetwood: The 6-1 junior combo guard had 16 points in a 39-24 win over Elco and 12 points in a 29-24 win over Hamburg.

Anyah Ortiz, Gov. Mifflin: The 5-4 junior guard scored 36 points over three games, including 13 in a 67-52 win over Lebanon and 10 in a 54-46 win over Wilson. She reached double figures in each game.

Twin Valley’s Anna Kaplan

Katie Behler, Hamburg: The 5-7 junior guard is averaging a team-best 8.8 points and five rebounds. She has been the Hawks’ top defensive player.

Ky Brantley, Kutztown: The 5-6 junior guard scored 28 points against Lehighton and 14 against Brandywine Heights. She’s averaging 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals this season.

Ryanna Hightower-Prentice, Muhlenberg: The freshman has averaged 11.7 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots per game.

Anna Kaplan, Twin Valley: The senior hit the winning layup in the closing seconds of a 51-49 overtime victory at Manheim Central. She had 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists and 12 steals over two games for the Raiders, both wins.

Ryanne Wheeler, Oley Valley: The 5-10 sophomore scored 26 points, had seven rebounds and three steals as the Lynx split two games.

Jadyn Heck-Hoppes, Schuylkill Valley: The 5-5 senior guard averaged 10.3 points and 2.7 assists as the Panthers went 3-0 last week.

Alexis Hardy, Wyomissing: The freshman had 18 points and four steals in a 38-34 overtime win over Conrad Weiser.
