2024 Berks football coverage
presented by UECU

The 2024 season kicks off in four days.
Every team has holes to plug after graduation losses, transfers and injuries.
Here’s a breakdown of the teams in Section 1 of the Lancaster Lebanon League and how they might finish.
| Team | 2023 | Outlook | Opener | |||
| 1 | Manheim Township* | 12-1 | Blue Streaks graduated more top-shelf talent than any team in the section but also have more coming back than their top rivals. Challenger for D3 crown. | @ Cumblerand Valley | ||
| 2 | Wilson | 7-4 | Bulldogs are mostly unproven, with just 7 starters back, and only 3 on defense. Lots of moving parts here. How QB spot plays out will be big key. | @ Cheltenham | ||
| 3 | Hempfield | 3-7 | Black Knights have a huge hole to fill at QB but otherwise return a lot of experience at WR, on O-line, and on D. Poised for a rebound. | @ Dallastown | ||
| 4 | Penn Manor | 4-6 | Comets, with at least 8 starters back on each side of the ball and solid special teams performers, have a chance to move up. Deep along both lines. Dark horse pick. | @ Conestoga Valley | ||
| 5 | McCaskey | 2-8 | Red Tornado has a wealth of experience back on both sides of the line, a dynamic QB in Jalen Cintron and a triple-threat in DeAndre Jones. Could surprise. | @ Bartram | ||
| 6 | Reading High | 1-9 | Red Knights have a deeper, more experienced roster than a year ago with several potential play-makers and a big O-Line. Should be more competitive. | Phoenixville | ||
| 7 | Cedar Crest | 8-3 | Falcons have an experienced QB but lots of holes to fill after graduating 11 all-league picks. New head coach. Could be starting over. | Lower Dauphin |
