ATGLEN — Coming off a decisive Week 8 win over Twin Valley, Wyomissing extended its winning streak to seven games with a dominant 31-7 win Friday night at Octorara in Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 4 play.

The win, coupled with Lampeter’s win over Twin Valley, sets up a Section 4 championship game next Saturday at Wyomissing.

Sophomore Justice Hardy, who amassed just under 300 all-purpose yards last week, wasted no time finding the end zone on a 47-yard scoring run early in the first quarter to tive Wyomissing an immediate 7-0 advantage.

The Braves (2-4, 4-5) attempted to respond offensively later in the first but fell 1 yard shy of converting on a crucial fourth down deep inside Spartans territory.

Wyomissing (6-0, 8-1), which shares the section lead with Lampeter-Strasburg (6-0, 9-0), saw junior Chase Eisenhower pound in a 6-yard touchdown run to close out the quarter to make it 14-0.

Late in the second, junior Danny Fleischood reeled in a difficult back-shoulder throw in traffic from sophomore quarterback Teddy White for a 38-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 21-0 before halftime.

Junior kicker Keegan Maher nailed a 27-yard field goal midway through the third quarter, followed by senior Derek Macrina sprinting 46 yards to score on the Spartans’ next drive to give Wyomissing a 31-point edge to open the fourth.

Braves junior Mekhai Lambert caught a 7-yard TD pass from sophomore Collin Wood later in the quarter to avoid a shutout, cutting the lead to 31-7.

Led by Macrina (81 yards) and Hardy (75 yards), the Spartans racked up 291 yards on the ground, exceeding 350 yards of total offense.
