Wilson’s Jadyn Jones is Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week
Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week
Wilson had the perfect weapon for a soggy Friday night and a must-win game: Powerful running back Jadyn Jones, a physical, between-the-tackles runner who can put his team on his back.
“With this weather, we had no choice but to run the ball,” said Jones after a 21-14, title-clinching win over Manheim Township. “It felt good just to pound that rock the whole game.”
The 5-11, 210-pound Jones carried a career-high 30 times for 177 yards, 116 in the second half, and has been named Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week.

“Every time we need a tough yard or more, Jadyn gets the ball,” said Wilson coach Doug Dahms. “He’s a very physical, punishing runner with quick feet and the ability to make you miss, though he would just as soon run over you. He gets the tough yards.”
Jones can do that. He’s a plow horse who takes tacklers head on but also has the ability to break away. He showed that on 43-yard run that flipped the field on Wilson’s final drive, one that saw the Bulldogs preserve their one-touchdown lead by holding the ball for the final six minutes of the game with an 11-play drive.
Seeing that didn’t come as a surprise to Township. A year ago they saw the same thing when Jones carried 29 times for 237 yards in a 31-28 win.
That kind of performance helped earn scholarship offers from the U.S. Naval Academy and Saint Francis University. Jones spent the summer on the college camp circuit, attending prospect camps at Rhode Island, Penn State, Pitt, Coastal Carolina and Temple.
His work ethic is what his coaches appreciate most.
“Somebody’s always out there working to get better,” he said, “so I work 10 times harder. I was trying to stay in the best shape I could with the stuff I had.”
Jones earns the award two weeks after his brother, junior Cam, was named Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week.
