Wilson holds off Manheim Township for fourth straight win

Aidan Melograna scored 13 second-half points as Wilson remained unbeaten, holding off Manheim Township 60-53 in a non-league game Tuesday at West Lawn.

Melograna finished with a game-high 19 points as the Bulldogs improved to 4-0.

Melograna hit a pair of 3-pointers in the opening minutes of the second half, sparking a 14-0 run that pushed Wilson’s lead to 40-21.

The Blue Streaks (1-4) battled back and got as close as 58-53 with 1:02 left on Caden Young’s three-point play.

Wilson led 14-4 at the outset, with Cleveland Harding Jr. scoring six first-quarter points. He finished with 14.

Seamus Breslin scored 13 for Wilson and Ofure Odiale had nine points and 11 rebounds.

Bennett Parmer had 14 points and 13 rebounds for Manheim Township.

Senior Cam Jones, Wilson’s leading scorer last season and an all-division pick, has yet to play due to a groin injury.

Wilson plays at Warwick Thursday, then opens Berks Conference play Tuesday with a crossover game against Twin Valley of Division II.
