Week 8: Fearless Friday Football Forecast (updated with results)
The football Gods caught up with the Fearless Forecasters last week.
After seeing four Forecasters turn in a perfect card in Week 6 the group collectively spun out and hit the wall in Week 7. Everyone had at least three crashes. A couple barely the red flag: A .500 finish.
The group completely swung and missed on Kutztown; all 13 Forecasters picked Northern Lebanon to win. It didn’t. Cougars: Advance directly to Go, collect $200!
Week 8 looks like a layup: Nine of the 13 match-ups are predicted as clean sweeps by the Forecasters. You know what that means: We’re looking at several upsets, aren’t we?
What appear to be the closest games of the week — Exeter at Hempfield and Schuylkill Valley at Hamburg — don’t look that way to the Forecasters. Only one picked the Black Knights. Just two picked the Panthers. Interesting to note that the two Forecasters who went with Schuylkill Valley are also ranked 1-2 in the season standings. Do they know something the rest of us don’t ?
Each week, MikeDragoSports.com staff writers and photographers, along with Jeff Reinhart of football partner LNP/Lancasteronline, will pick the games. We’ll keep standings and the Forecaster with the most points at the end of the season will get a big prize! (Big being a relative term.)
Each correct pick earns one point; if a Forecaster “doubles down” and is correct he gets two points.
Remember: Each Fearless Forecaster can only “down double” on a team once during the regular season (and once again during the postseason).
