Week 7: Fearless Friday Football Forecast (standings updated with results)

Things are heating up in the weekly Fearless Forecast. One week after Joe Mays became the first to pull off a Nadia Comaneci — a perfect score — four more Forecasters joined him: Sam Cavalieri, Phil Marabella, Sean McBryan and Mike Mitchell Jr.

Granted, this is a little easier than the balance beam or uneven bars, as evidenced by the fact that five other Forecasters went 13-1 in Week 6. That performance will be tough to beat, what with some true toss-up games on the Week 7 card.

Each week, MikeDragoSports.com staff writers and photographers, along with Jeff Reinhart of football partner LNP/Lancasteronline, will pick the games. We’ll keep standings and the Forecaster with the most points at the end of the season will get a big prize! (Big being a relative term.)

Each correct pick earns one point; if a Forecaster “doubles down” and is correct he gets two points.

Remember: Each Fearless Forecaster can only “down double” on a team once during the regular season (and once again during the postseason).

The toughest pick this week might be Twin Valley agaisnt Garden Spot. Nine of 13 Forecasters went with the Spot, but don’t forget the Raiders played L-L Section 3 leaders Elizabethtown and Solanco tough the past two weeks.

Another game of interest picks Berks Catholic at Lampeter-Strasburg. Two weeks ago, when the Saints were winless, this didn’t look like much of a contest. Now they’ve won two straight and four Forecasters think they can keep it going.
