Week 4: Fearless Friday Football Forecast (updated with results)

Lancaster-Lebanon League play starts this week with several interesting match-ups, none more so than Daniel Boone at Octorara in Section 4. The Blazers haven’t won a game yet; the Braves are a surprising 2-1, matching their win total of last season.
Still, the Fearless Forecasters are looking at this game as a toss-up, six picking the Blazers, six siding with the Braves. There’s only one thing we know for sure: Six of the Forecasters will be wrong.
Several other league openers have our panel split, mostly notably Hamburg’s visit to Annville-Cleona, featuring two teams expecting to be in the hunt for the Section 5 title. The Hawks get the hometown lean here, 8-4. The x-factor is the fact that Hamburg didn’t play last week, getting a forfeit from Fairfield. Hard to say how that will factor in.
It’s interesting to note that Muhlenberg, which not a single Forecaster picked to win in Week 1, has become the darling of the Fearless Friday crew. Half of the 12 Forecasters are doubling down on the Muhls to win this week, no doubt in part because their opponent, the Lebanon Cedars, haven’t won a game during the Biden Presidency.
Each week, MikeDragoSports.com staff writers, photographers and contributors, along with Mike Gross and Jeff Reinhart of football partner LNP/Lancasteronline, will pick all the Berks games, along with other selected other Lancaster-Lebanon League games.
We’ll keep standings and the Forecaster with the most points at the end of the season will get a (relatively) big prize!
Each correct pick earns one point; if a Forecaster “doubles down” on a Berks team and is correct he gets two points. Each Fearless Forecaster can “down double” on a team only once during the regular season (and once again during the postseason)
