Fearless Friday Football Forecast Finale, presented by State Farm agent Sean Reali
There are a bunch of championships on the line this week, and in the weeks to come, chief among them this weekend Twin Valley’s bid for its first District 3 Class 4A championship. If the Raiders win that they’ll be just two steps away from a state championship.
The season finale for the Fearless Forecasters won’t be nearly as exciting.
It appears that Matt Hagy has his second consecutive title sewn up. He has a two-game lead on both former co-champ Sam Cavalieri and perennial contender Jeff Reinhart. Since most of their picks are the same, it doesn’t appear Matt can be caught.
He’ll become the second two-time champ in the four-year history of the Fearless Forecasters. Joe Mays won the inaugural title in 2022 and shared it with Sam the following year. Joe appears to be losing a step, though; just like last year he’s out of the running heading into the final week.
With only two Lancaster-Lebanon League teams (Twin Valley and Solanco) still playing, and with only a handful of others in District 3 going this week, we’ve added several PIAA playoff games in order to fill out the card.
Twin Valley and LaSalle College, which plays Easton, are the lone unanimous picks. Of course, Wyomissing was a unanimous pick last week against Susquehanna Township and . . . well, that looked good for 47 minutes and 59 seconds.
You might notice only four Forecasters are using a double-down this week; the other eight Forecasters used Twin Valley in an earlier round so they didn’t have any other options.
Each week, MikeDragoSports.com staff writers, photographers, and contributors, along with writers from football partner LNP/Lancasteronline, will pick all the Berks games, along with other selected Lancaster-Lebanon League games.
We’ll keep standings and the Forecaster with the most points at the end of the season will get a (relatively) big prize!
Each correct pick earns one point; if a Forecaster “doubles down” on a Berks team and is correct he gets two points. Each Fearless Forecaster can “down double” on a team only once during the regular season (and once again during the postseason).
