Week 11: Fearless Friday Football Forecast (updated with results)

The second season is upon us. The start of the playoffs Friday brings enhanced excitement and a clean slate for all the teams that made the cut.

It means a clean slate for the Fearless Forecasters, as well. Each is free to “double-down” on any Berks team this week, though that won’t necessarily be easy considering the slate we’re looking at. Those 8 vs. 9 and 7 vs. 10 match-ups are never easy to decipher.

The Forecasters found three picks especially tough: Fleetwood at Shamokin, Big Spring at Elco and Camp Hill at Annville-Cleona; the latter two are virtually pick ’ems.

With the Berks field narrowed — just five teams in action Friday — we have added the other Lancaster-Lebanon League teams to the card.

As you can see, there is only one clean sweeps by the Forecasters: Conestoga Valley over Dover. There are at least one or two dissenters in each other match-up, with a couple almost evenly split.

Each week, MikeDragoSports.com staff writers and photographers, along with Jeff Reinhart of football partner LNP/Lancasteronline and Daryn Zeiner of Jerry Geleff Media, will pick all the Berks games. We’ll keep standings and the Forecaster with the most points at the end of the season will get a big prize!

Each correct pick earns one point; if a Forecaster “doubles down” on a Berks team and is correct he gets two points. Each Fearless Forecaster can “down double” on a team only once during the regular season (and once again during the postseason).
