One-sided championship-game losses have knocked Exeter and Schuylkill Valley out of the PennLive.com state rankings.

The Eagles surrendered 35 unanswered points in falling to Manheim Central 42-14 in their bid for a share of the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 title.

The Panthers were out-gained nearly 3-to-1 in a 35-14 loss to Lancaster Catholic in their chance to win the Section 5 title outright.

Both teams were listed in the Team To Watch category last week.

Wyomissing, Wilson and Twin Valley remain the only Berks teams in the rankings.

The Spartans remained No. 2 in Class 3A after winning 18-13 at Lampeter-Strasburg, which had been No. 10 in the state in Class 4A.

The Bulldogs remained a Team To Watch in 6A despite a 49-34 loss to Manheim Township, ranked No. 4 in the state’s highest classification. The Bulldogs scored more points on the Blue Streaks than any team this season.

The Raiders remained a Team To Watch in 4A after wrapping up the best regular season in program history with a 48-7 win over Hatboro-Horsham.

Exeter had spent much of the season in the Class 5A Top 10, including four weeks at No. 3 before a Week 9 loss to Conestoga Valley. The Eagles were listed as a Team To Watch last week.

Schuylkill Valley spent two weeks in the rankings in Class 3A.
