Before he begins his college lacrosse career Drew Engle will play one more football game.

The record-setting Twin Valley tailback is one of four Berks players selected to play in the PSFCA Big School East/West game May 17. Kickoff is at 5 at Cumberland Valley’s Chapman Field, following the Small School game.

Engle will be joined on the East roster by Wilson wide receiver Jaiden Carpenter, Wyomissing linebacker Chase Eisenhower, and Wyomissing punter Keeghan Maher.

Wilson’s Doug Dahms will be the head coach. Muhlenberg’s Rob Flowers will be an assistant coach.

Two other Lancaster-Lebanon League players were selected to the 36-player East roster: Manheim Township wide receiver Daryus Dixon and Lampeter-Strasburg offensive lineman Collin Shelley.

Engle, committed to play lacrosse at the United State Military Academy at West Point, was named Outstanding Back and Offensive Back of the Year in Section 4 of Lancaster-Lebanon League after setting program records with 2,095 rushing yards in a season and 4,212 in career. He was also named Berks Player of the Year by MikeDragoSports.com.

The All-State pick averaged 9.3 yards per carry in leading the Raiders to the PIAA Class 4A championship game, where he rushed for 176 yards.

Chase Eisenhower

Engle scored 37 touchdowns as a senior and 61 in his career. He set a program record with six TDs, against Lampeter-Strasburg, and another when he piled up 388 all-purpose yards in playoff win over West Perry.

He’ll share backfield duties with Sean Steckert, who led Southern Lehigh to a 43-21 victory over the Raiders in the state championship game.

Carpenter was named to the Pennsylvania Sportswriters Class 6A All-State team as a defensive back after recording seven pass breakups and two interceptions and returning a fumble for TD. He averaged 19.1 yards on his team-leading 35 receptions, with a team-best 11 TDs.

He was Defensive Back of the Year in Section 1 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League.

Flowers just completed his second season at Muhlenberg, where he led the Muhls to an 8-3 record and back to the district playoffs for the first in 12 years. He has also been head coach at Reading High and Daniel Boone.
