Twin Valley is No. 2 in PennLive.com’s final Class 4A state rankings, the highest finish ever for the Raiders, who ended their season with a 43-21 loss to Southern Lehigh in the PIAA championship game.

Twin Valley is one of eight Berks County teams which appeared in the rankings this season, and one of five in the final rankings.

Wyomissing, No. 5 in the preseason in Class 4A, finishes at No. 8. It appeared in the Top 10 in all 17 weekly rankings, peaking at No. 3 for two weeks.

Exeter, No. 6 in the preseason in Class 5A, finishes at No. 9. It appeared in the Top 10 in 14 weekly rankings, peaking at No. 5 for seven weeks over the first half of the season.

Wilson, which spent 13 weeks in the rankings, finishes as an honorable mention selection in 6A. The Bulldogs spent two weeks in the Top 10 before a Week 10 loss to Manheim Township.

Berks Catholic first appeared after Week 8 and spent nine weeks in the 3A rankings, peaking at No. 6. The Saints spent three weeks in the Top 10; they finish as an honorable mention selection.

Muhlenberg spent one week as a Team To Watch after a 6-0 start but was immediately dropped after a loss to Exeter. Conrad Weiser, which opened 4-0, spent three early weeks as a Team To Watch.

Schuylkill Valley was No. 10 in 3A in the preseason but dropped out after a season-opening loss to Muhlenberg and never appeared again.

Twin Valley spent three weeks at No. 1 and five weeks in the Top 5 last year, its highest-ever rankings.

The Raiders are one of only three Berks programs ever to hold a No. 1 ranking, along with Wyomissing and Governor Mifflin. Wyomissing has spent 17 weeks at No. 1, Mifflin 11. Wilson has spent three weeks at No. 2 but never higher. Exeter is the only other Berks team to reach as high as No. 2.
