Schuylkill Valley opened its Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 5 matchup against Annville-Cleona with a 60-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Logan Nawrocki to tight end Lucas Spotts, and built on their lead with big plays all night in a 49-28 win over the Dutchmen Friday night in Leesport.

It was just one of three one-play drives the Panthers had in the first half alone.

The Panthers (6-0, 7-2) extended their lead to 14 two possessions later on a 59-yard touchdown by running back Cooper Hohenadel. Hohenadel finished with 111 yards on seven carries and the one score. Hohenadel also kept the Dutchmen out of the end zone with a one-handed interception on their opening drive in the second half.

While the Panthers utilized a quick strike offense, the Dutchmen took their time with each possession. Annville-Cleona (3-3, 4-5) first reached the end zone in the second quarter on a 13-play drive that ended in a 1-yard run by quarterback Bryce Keller.

But the Panthers continued to dominate on offense, responding with a 2-yard touchdown pass from Nawrocki to running back Logan Cammauf. Cammauf also scored on a 39-yard run in the second half.

Schuylkill Valley reached the end zone on another one-play drive in the first half. The touchdown pass was Nawrocki’s third of the half, connecting with receiver Dillon Lackner on a 72-yard pass. Nawrocki completed 9-of-14 attempts for 227 yards and four scores.

Lackner had four receptions for 134 yards and two touchdowns

Spotts caught three passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Five different players scored for the Panthers.
