Record-setting Czion Brickle is Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week
Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week
Czion Brickle visited the end zone more times in a single game Friday than any football player in Fleetwood history.
How’s seven scores, to go with a program-record 306 rushing yards?
“That’s crazy,” said the 5-9, 175-pound senior, who had no idea he had produced such historic numbers in the Tigers’ wild 44-41 win over visiting Solanco. “I’m at a loss for words.”
The words were pretty easy to choose after Brickle scored for four touchdowns and ran for three two-point conversions: Wyomissing Physical Therapy Offensive Player of the Week.

Brickle not only set the program single-game rushing record but tied the record for points in a game with 30.
Tyler Emge set the record with 30 points when he scored five touchdowns in a playoff game against Honesdale in 2014.
Emge established the rushing record in that game with 276 yards
Brickle smashed it.
He carried the ball 29 times and moved the chains 18 times, which is probably a program record, as well.
Six of his carries went for 20 yards or more, including TDs of 42, 23 and 24. He also scored on a 1-yard run.
That was part of a 426-yard rushing attack for the Tigers, a team that usually puts the ball up as often as it runs it.
Not this time, not with a steady game-long rain, including a lightning storm that suspended the game for 30 minutes.
“Once you know you can have your way with a team up front, you don’t have to be tricky,” said Tigers coach Steve Pangburn, explaining why the Tigers threw just three pass. “The play sheet was pretty small tonight.
“Mother Nature kind of trapped us into a game plan and once that game plan started (working), why would we get away from it?”
Especially with Brickle — one of the league’s best yet least-heralded backs — running so hard and fast.
Brickle became just the fifth back in program history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. He has 1,252 yards, second-most in Section 3 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League, to go with 16 TDs. He’s averaging 7.9 yards per carry.
Brickle gave the Tigers the lead for good with a 24-yard TD with 6:07 remaining. The Mules threatened take the lead for the sixth time (in a game that saw 10 lead changes), driving to the 5 in the final minute. The Tigers stopped them, with freshman Davyan Moore intercepting a pass in the end zone to end it.
Brickle credited his offensive line of Hunter Svoboda, Hunter Leister, Noah Rothermel, Cody Harders and Brandon Delgrosso for his record night.
“They did a great job up front,” he said. “We have very good linemen. (Solanco) couldn’t stop the run, so we just kept running the ball.”
