Raiders post record scoring total in win over Cougars

Trey Freeman and Dominic Caruso each scored three touchdowns as Twin Valley set a program record for points in a 68-22 victory over Kutztown in a Berks Football League Section 2 opener Friday at Kutztown.
The previous record was 51 points, in a win over Fleetwood in 2018.
The 46-point winning margin is the second-highest in program history, trailing only a 48-0 win over Fleetwood in 2006.
Freeman scored on a 60-yard kickoff return and on a pair of passes from freshman Evan Myers; they were the only passes Myers attempted.
Caruso rushed for 109 yards on eight carries. He extended the program career records for touchdowns to 33.
Six different players scored touchdowns for the Raiders (3-1).
Lennon Neiman scored a pair of touchdowns for the Cougars (2-2), who a week ago set a program scoring record in a 76-37 win over Pequea Valley.
Over the last two weeks the Cougars have seen 203 points scored in their games.
Neiman scored on runs of 13 and 25 yards, and rushed for 70 yards on 10 carries.
Isaac Schneider led Kutztown with 109 yards on 10 carries.
The Raiders rushed for 303 yards on 30 attempts.
The Cougars were hurt by three lost fumbles.
A win next week against Conrad Weiser will give the Raiders a 4-1 start for the first time in program history.
The Cougars play at Schuylkill Valley in Week 5.
