Projecting the finish in Section 4 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League

2024 Berks football coverage

presented by UECU

The 2024 season kicks off in just a couple days.

Every team has holes to plug after graduation losses, transfers, and offseason injuries.

Here’s a breakdown of the teams in Section 4 of the Lancaster Lebanon League and how they might finish.

Team2023OutlookOpener
1Twin Valley*10-2Raiders have a four-year starter at QB, a pair of 1,000-yard rushers, and several college-level linemen. They should be even better than a season ago when they set the program record for wins. Early favorite for District 3 Class 4A title.@ Berks Catholic
2Wyomissing12-2Spartans took a big graduation hit, losing 7 all-league players, and are untested at QB. The backfield is loaded, Justice Hardy is a potential game-breaker, and the lines are big enough to challenge Twin Valley for top spot.Southern Columbia
3Lampeter-Strasburg9-3Pioneers were cleaned out by graduation, losing 10 all-league picks. Strong in the trenches but untested at QB. Big gap between them and the section leaders.@ Solanco
4Elco8-4Raiders will look like a completely different team without 2,400-yard rusher Jake Williams moving the chains. They’ve got enough depth and experience up front on both sides of the ball to remain competitive.@ West York
5Northern Lebanon4-6Vikings return 7 starters on each side of the ball but there’s not much depth on either line. Move from Section 5 will be a challenge, especially when they run into Twin Valley, Wyomissing and Lampeter.Pine Grove
6Donegal3-7Indians starting over again after losing key offensive pieces. Soft non-league schedule gives them a chance for some early success and shot at .500.@ Middletown
7Daniel Boone1-9Lots of key players in new positions, including Hayden Moyer as a first-time QB. There will be a lot of on-the-job training in Birdsboro. Took some offseason hits in transfer portal.Exeter
8Octorara2-8Braves remain in rebuilding mode. They open season with 14-game league losing streak hanging over them.@ Hamburg
*Shared Section 3 title last season.

Daniel Boone’s Haydn Moyer
Twin Valley’s Evan Myers
