Did you know? This is the 50th anniversary season of the Lancaster-Lebanon League, which debuted in 1972. Wilson was added as an associate member in 1975, along with Gov. Mifflin and Muhlenberg. Muhlenberg left after the 1980 season. Mifflin left after the 2003 season. Reading High was an associate member from 1987-2009. For the 2022 season, 13 Berks teams will be added to the league, which will include 37 teams and five sections.

Fast fact: Wilson has won a record 27 Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 titles; McCaskey is next with nine. The Bulldogs have won 21 outright titles; the rest of the league has combined for 14. Bulldogs have won or shared the Section 1 title 11 times in the past 13 seasons.

About the Comets: Coming off back-to-back nail-biters, 21-17 last week at Solanco and 30-28 the week before at Warwick, when they used a Hail Mary to pull it out… Off to best start since 2014… Despite impressive record have been outscored 97-88, in large part because of a 31-0 loss to Lampeter-Strasburg in Week 2… Wins have come by 4, 1, 12, and 4 points… QB Eli Warfel’s game-winning pass to beat Warwick came with no time left on the clock… Needed a pair of fourth-quarter scoring drives last week to edge Solanco… The go-ahead score went to DeShawn Stanley, who caught the game-winner the week before… Warfel has passed for 342 yards and run for 344 yards, with eight TDs… Ethan Ademan has rushed for 216 yards and two TDs… Allowing over 200 rushing yards per game, and 314 total.

Fast fact: Penn Manor has the best record of any team in Section 1 of the L-L. The other five teams are a combined 12-12.

Did you know? Hempfield is the highest-ranked Section 1 team in the District 3 Class 6A power rankings at No. 8, followed by Penn Manor (9), Manheim Township (10), Cedar Crest (12), Wilson (13) and McCaskey (15). The top eight qualify for the tournament.
