Series: Scouts lead 24-10-2.

Last season: In their first regular-season meeting in 15 years the Hawks grabbed an early lead before Logan Klitsch and Scouts turned it on for a 39-8 win. Klitsch threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns, two to Aanjay Feliciano. He also rushed for 115 yards and scored on a 65-yard run. Diohnny Ruiz accounted for 85 of Hamburg’s 114 total yards and its only TD.

The Scouts: Bounced back from Week 5 overtime loss to Twin Valley with 45-21 win last week over Schuylkill Valley. QB Logan Klitsch accounted for five of their seven touchdowns, three passing and two running. Aanjay Felciano had six receptions for 113 yards, his third 100-yard receiving game of the season.

Team ranks No. 1 in Berks in total offense at 428.5 yards per game and No. 1 in passing at 226.2 yards per game. Averaging 37.5 points per game, fourth-highest in Berks. Defensive numbers aren’t as good; they’re last in total yards, allowing 355 per game, and giving up 28.5 points per game.

The Hawks: Off to best start in 15 years despite dealing with mounting injury situation. Won first six games in 2006 en route to 8-3 finish and spot in District 3 Tournament. One season after setting a program record by averaging 34.5 points per game, they’re averaging 34.2, fifth-best in Berks.

Senior RB Diohnny Ruiz has been the catalyst. He’s averaging 14.9 yards per carry, tops among Berks back with 30 or more carries. He leads the team with 10 TDs. Pierce Mason is averaging 15.8 yards per carry (on 20 rushing attempts) and has scored seven TDs after going for 143 yards and three scores in a 47-34 win over Kutztown last week. Ruiz had four TDs in that one. Best win came in Week 5 over Tri-Valley, which is 4-1. Lone loss came in Week 4 to unbeaten Wyomissing, 47-7.

Did you know? Conrad Weiser’s Logan Klitsch became just the ninth Berks passer to top 4,000 career yards last week. He is currently No. 8 on the Berks all-time list, with 4,062 yards. He is on pace to become just the fourth to reach 5,000 yards, joining Jon Monteiro of Daniel Boone, Chris Bokosky of Daniel Boone and Chad Henne of Wilson.

Fast fact: Aanjay Feliciano has 14 career TD receptions, one short of the Conrad Weiser record of 15, set by Matt Weiser from 2008-10. He is 128 yards away from Weiser’s program record of 1,615 career receiving yards.
