FREDERICKSBURG — Northern Lebanon closed out its home schedule with a 36-13 win over Daniel Boone in a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 4 game Friday night.

The Vikings (2-4, 3-6) scored 36 consecutive points in the middle of the game, between touchdowns at the beginning and end by the Blazers (1-5, 1-8).

Brendan Ryan provided back-to-back key plays late in the second quarter. He sacked Blazers quarterback Haydn Moyer on a third down to get the Vikings the ball back. On the next snap Ryan took a punt back 60 yards for a touchdown and a 13-7 lead for Northern Lebanon with 1:49 left before halftime.

Brendan Ryan’s brother Brady also provided a special teams touchdown, an 81-yard kickoff return that provided the Vikings their first points. Brady Ryan also caught two passes, a 13-yard touchdown strike from Ryan Clemmer, and a 49-yard bomb that helped stretch the defense.

Myles Watson carried the ball 17 times for 138 yards. He scored a 7-yard touchdown on an option pitch to the right in the third period and burst through the middle of the line for a 25-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Darius Cruz caught seven passes for 111 yards for the Blazers. His 54-yard catch in the fourth period set up Daniel Boone’s last touchdown, a 1-yard run by Moyer.

Northern Lebanon’s defense picked up 12 sacks, accumulating minus-80 yards. That was part of the reason the Vikings allowed just 28 rushing yards on 48 Blazer carries.

The most important sacks came early in the fourth quarter, when Daniel Boone drove to the Northern Lebanon 9, down just 22-7. Jack Kleisath, Eli Thompson and Brendan Ryan recorded three straight sacks. A personal foul did get the Blazers back to the 15, but a fourth-down pass in the end zone fell incomplete.

Up next, Daniel Boone will play its season finale at home against Twin Valley Friday; Northern Lebanon plays at Elco.
