LITITZ — Bode Madara had some adrenaline working for him Friday night.

Two Pick-Sixes will do that for a football player.

On a night when Warwick’s defense scored four touchdowns, Madara, a sophomore safety, accounted for two of those, returning interceptions 28 and 21 yards as the Warriors snapped a six-game losing streak with a 64-7 victory over Muhlenberg in a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 football game at Joseph Grosh Field in Lititz.

“My heart was kinda pumping,” Madara said with a smile. “It’s really special because my parents and family are here, and for them to see that, it’s just great.”

Wearing camouflage jerseys to honor the Pennsylvania National Guard, the Warriors (1-3, 2-6) forced four Muhlenberg turnovers and scored on five plays of 21 yards or longer. Jack Mitchell added a 30-yard pick-six and Malachi Rodriguez returned a fumble for a TD.

The Muhls (1-4, 1-7) scored the first points with Isiah Dodson hauling in a 66-yard TD pass on a halfback option in the first quarter. It was all Warwick from there, capitalizing on an average starting field position of Muhlenberg’s 47-yard line on its first six drives while taking a commanding 35-7 lead at the half.

Senior quarterback Trevor Evans went 7-of-9 for 151 yards and three touchdowns, two of those to senior tight end Thomas Jeanes, from 12 and 6 yards. It was Jeanes’ his first game back after a shoulder injury.

In all, the Warriors gained 294 yards of total offense, including Quinn Care’s 60 rushing yards and a TD on just three carries. Defensively, Warwick limited the Muhls to just 39 yards on the ground and 112 yards overall.

Leading 14-7 in the second quarter, Warwick scored three touchdowns in a span of 2:14 — two of those on defense, courtesy of interceptions by Mitchell and Madara — to break the game open and take a 28-point lead into the half. A 51-yard TD strike from Evans to Judah Willard started the flurry.
