Kutztown University offensive lineman Adam Kase, a Conrad Weiser grad, has been named to the D2Football.com Elite 100 Team.
The senior guard is joined on the list by teammate Freddie Retter, a defensive lineman from Quakertown.
Kase, the Golden Bears’ starting right guard, helped the team average 30.0 points and better than 163 rushing yards per game. He is a two-time All-PSAC East First Team and D2CCA All-Super Region 1 selection, and also appeared on D2Football.com’s 2024 Elite 100 Watch List.
Kase started all 12 games for a Kutztown team that allowed the second-fewest sacks in the PSAC and 15th fewest in DII at 0.92 per game. KU’s scoring offense was second-best in the PSAC and its rushing offense was third in the conference.
Retter established career-highs with 22 solo tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, two fumbles forced, two fumbles recovered and three blocked kicks on his way to PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Year and D2CCA All-Super Region 1 Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Kutztown completed the first unbeaten regular season in program history while winning its second straight PSAC championship and fourth PSAC East title in the last five seasons.
The Golden Bears were ranked as high as No. 3 in the AFCA Division II Poll and made their sixth NCAA Division II playoff appearance before losing in the second round to finish 11-1.
Kutztown fifth in the final AFCA rankings, highest ever for the program.
