Miracle finish helps Wilson stun Methacton

(This story will be updated with details and postgame reaction.)

Cameron Jones hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation and Wilson went on to dominate Methacton in overtime to pull off a thrilling 60-56 non-league victory at West Lawn Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (14-5) battled back from a 12-point deficit with 2 1/2 minutes left and needed to score four points in the final 1.6 seconds left to send the game to OT.

Aidan Melograna hit the front end of a two-shot foul to cut Methacton’s lead to 50-47. After a timeout he intentionally missed his second shot, Foday Sillah rebounded and fired to Jones on the wing, who drained the 3.

The Bulldogs went up in regulation on Sillah’s steal and basket and never trailed again.

Sillah finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds, Cleveland Harding had 15 points and Jones had 14 points and five rebounds.

Matt Christian scored a game-high 19 points for the Warriors (18-2), who are the top-ranked Class 6A team in District 1.
