MikeDragoSports.com set to announce “Starting Lineup”

Berks football has produced some outstanding names during the 2000’s, sending numerous players on to major college football programs and several to the professional ranks.

There’s more outstanding talent ready to take the field this season, with the Berks Class of 2024 featuring several Division I recruits and another superb group of talent that includes top-shelf juniors and sophomores.

To recognize the top players in Berks football MikeDragoSports.com has selected the “Starting Lineup,” a preseason All-Berks team that includes the top linemen, backs, receivers, linebackers and specialists.

Players were selected based on their expected performance this season and their college potential. Two-way players were given special consideration. The team will be a mix of linemen and backs, offensive and defensive players.

Berks coaches and recruiting experts such Ross Tucker, co-founder and CEO of GoBigRecruiting.com and a former NFL lineman, had input selecting the team.

One player will be introduced each day over the next two weeks, beginning Friday afternoon.

Last year’s “Starting Lineup” included Williams of Wyomissing, Schlaffer of Exeter, Cam Jones of Wilson, Josiah Jordan of Berks Catholic and Anthony Caccese of Exeter. Williams and Schlaffer are now playing at Penn State; Jones is at Holy Cross; Jordan is at Wilkes; and Caccese is at Delaware.

After the “Starting Lineup” has been announced MikeDragoSports.com will present the “Berks Watch List,” which will include 50 or more other top players to watch this season.
