Michal Menet to be added to Arizona Cardinals practice squad
Two days after being released by the Arizona Cardinals, Exeter grad Michal Menet has been offered a chance to rejoin the team as a member of the 16-player practice squad.

Menet, a Penn State grad drafted by the Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, is headed back to Arizona Thursday to sign a contract and begin his pro football career. He was cut on Monday as the team made moves to reach the league-maximum 53-man roster for opening day.
Menet was among 10 players cut on the final day, and one of two offensive linement.
The 6-4, 300-pound Menet was a three-year starter and two-time captain with the Nittany Lions, and entered the May draft as one of the top collegiate centers in the nation.
Menet faced stiff competition from two veteran centers on the Arizona roster, and it did not come as a major surprise that he didn’t make the club’s opening roster.
Menet spent time during camp learning from veterans Rodney Hudson, considered by many the top center in the NFL, and Max Garcia, a veteran who has started at both center and guard during his career.
“I’ve really been able to learn a ton from them, especially with Max, because he’s played guard and center throughout his career,” Menet told MikeDragoSports.com last month. “There’s a ton of guys to learn from, a ton of great examples of how to practice.”
The Cardinals open the season Sept. 12 at 1 at Tennessee. He’ll have a chance to reunite with former Penn State teammate Jan Johnson, who was signed to the Titans practice squad.
There are likely to be more roster moves made by NFL teams between now and then.
