Kissner, Cook hook up in Dallastown’s shutout of Manheim Central

DALLASTOWN — Dallastown picked up its third straight win over a Lancaster-Lebanon League team, dispatching Manheim Central 35-0 Friday in the schools’ first meeting since 1955.
Kody Kissner tossed three touchdowns to Jalen Cook and Dallastown held the Barons (1-2) to just 123 yards in picking up their second straight shutout.
The Wildcats (3-0) struck quickly as Kissner hit Cook across the middle on a crossing route on their third play from scrimmage. Cook rushed up the middle of the field and split the Barons’ secondary for a 78-yard touchdown.
The Kissner-to-Cook touchdown in the second quarter played out much the same with Kissner finding Cook across the middle and Cook bursting through the secondary for a 79-yard touchdown.
Kissner, who had already thrown for 415 yards through two weeks, went 8-for-10 for 273 yards.
Leading 21-0 late in the third quarter, the Wildcats put the punctuation mark in the victory.
First, running back Michael Scott took an option toss from Kissner and cut back across the field and down the Barons’ sideline for a 40-yard touchdown.
Two plays later, Antonio Bordonada picked up a fumbled reception and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown and a 35-0 lead with 2:33 left in the third quarter.
Cook had three touchdowns and finished with 206 yards receiving. He also had an interception on the Barons’ second offensive play of the second half.
Through three weeks, Manheim has scored just 38 points while turning it over 10 times.
Up next, Manheim Central hosts Martin Luther King in a non-league game while Dallastown kicks off YAIAA league play at South Western.
