Hamburg set for annual Military & First Responders night

Hamburg will celebrate its annual Military & First Responders Appreciation Night Friday at its home game against Schuylkill Valley.

All military members and first responders will be admitted free with valid ID.

There will be a pregame tailgate for military members and first responders, starting at 4 on the baseball field at 4. Gates open at 5:15. On-field festivities will begin at 6:15. Kickoff is 7.

Representatives from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard will be on hand to visit and talk with guests, as will representatives from the Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland State Police.
Fire and EMS personnel from Hamburg, Shoemakersville, Shartlesville, Strausstown, Virginville, Port Clinton, and others in the region will also be on hand.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children and students.

The celebration was orginally set for Sept. 6 but Fairfield forfeited the game and the ceremony was pushed back to the Frost Bowl.
